Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer
After studies in Mathematics that led him to a PhD, Olivier joined the Geosciences Montpellier laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher. There, he worked on the geometric characterization of porous media using 3D imaging and met Philippe and Vanessa. Together they experienced the lack of Digital Rock Physics solutions able to fill their needs. They discovered that they were surprisingly not alone. Thus they decided to bring their own ideas into this field. As a fan of demanding ascents, he likes to commit himself to sports such as trail running, rock climbing and startup creation. Being Voxaya's CEO, he is in charge of the company strategy, product development and pun quality.
Co-founder & Business developer
Hiking made Vanessa want to become a geologist. She holds a degree in Geosciences from the University of Bordeaux. She then obtained a PhD in Geology from the University of Montpellier. Processing large amounts of 3D images during her PhD made her want to play with her own Digital Rock Physics software. Vanessa gained experience with material analysis techniques related to innovative tools through time, fed by a growing curiosity for the whole range of scientific applications. Now she can travel in the inner structure of any rock as a product developer and marketing account manager for Voxaya.
Chief Technical Officer
After graduating from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan (now Paris-Saclay), Thierry went to program parallel computers. Thierry has more than 30 years of experience developing optimized applications on desktop machines with accelerators and on some of the largest clusters in the World. Thierry has developed codes for nuclear research, real-time training and now numerical rocks. When not in front of a computer, Thierry enjoys solving mathematical puzzles and playing piano. Thierry has a BSc in Electrical Engineering and a MSc in Artificial Intelligence.
Co-founder & Scientific Advisor
Philippe is a senior researcher at CNRS since 1995. He develops tools for modeling flow, solute transport and chemical reactions for applications to aquifers and reservoir exploitation. His interest in using Digital Rock Physics to quantify processes and parameterizing models started in 1999. From this time the challenge was to retrieve as most information as possible from accurate image processing. Since non-invasive 3D imaging became routine in Geosciences, Philippe thought it was time to share his experience with the industry. The challenge was to gather a pair of talented, motivated and sufficiently daredevil young scientists to take the lead of the Voxaya venture!
Thomas received his PhD in Computer Sciences from the University of Montpellier in the field of parallel arithmetic algorithms for asymmetric cryptography. He then specialized in high-performance computing and code compilation and worked as a research engineer and project leader for several years before joining the Voxaya team. His research interests include parallelism, high-performance computing and computational sciences.
Valentin is a R&D engineer at Voxaya, where he mainly develops Voxaya's main product, Voxilon, including new visualization features and analysis algorithms. He holds a Master's degree in Computational Physics and he made his end-of-studies internship about condensed matter at CEA in 2015. Valentin also helps client companies to study their samples and produce data using Voxilon. Valentin is a gamer and passionate about new technologies and AI.
After a Master's degree in hydrogeology from the University of Montpellier, Marie is now a R&D Engineer at Voxaya and PhD candidate at Geosciences Montpellier, in collaboration with Voxaya. Her research consists in understanding the creation of karstic networks at the pore scale. Therefore, her PhD thesis will allow to validate several algorithms implemented in Voxaya's software by a direct and everyday use. Marie is passionate by outdoor sports as hiking and climbing and she enjoys discovering new places whenever she can.
Marketing & Communication manager
Loren conducted a Master's degree in Marketing in Montpellier Management. During her studies, she spent a year abroad, in the Netherlands, where she had courses in innovation and creativity. Loving the start up environment, she worked in multiple SME's and developed her communication skills to be fully polyvalent. Loren likes to challenge herself and discover new areas. Voxaya represents her new challenge, and she is willing to meet it!
